Welcome to the Mafkers documentation - your guide to translating PC games into your language using AI.
What is Mafkers?
Mafkers is a desktop application (Windows, macOS, Linux) that uses AI to automatically translate video games into your target language. It supports:
- 9+ engines: Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, Ren’Py, RPG Maker, Kirikiri, TyranoScript, EasyRPG, Wolf RPG
- Multi-language: Indonesian, English, Vietnamese, Thai, Portuguese (BR), Spanish (LatAm)
- AI contextual translation: Understands game lore, terminology, and tone
- Smart Re-patching: Automatically re-translates when games update
Quick Start
- Download Mafkers from mafkers.com/download
- Install the app (Windows .exe, macOS .dmg, or Linux .AppImage)
- Sign in with your Mafkers account (or sign up - it’s free)
- Select your game folder - Mafkers auto-detects the engine
- Click “Translate” - wait 3-5 minutes for the mod to install
System Requirements
Make sure you have at least 4GB RAM and 200MB free disk space. Internet connection required for AI translation.
Key Features
Tag & Proper Noun Protection
Mafkers uses a 4-layer protocol to ensure game tags (<color=#FF0000>, {0}, %s) and proper nouns (character names, place names, item names) are never modified by AI.
Smart Re-Patching
When a game updates, Mafkers detects the version change and re-translates only the strings that changed - saving 80-95% of LLM cost.
Multi-Engine Support
Mafkers supports 9+ engines with an adapter pattern architecture. Adding a new engine = one new adapter file, no core code changes.
// Example adapter pattern
class UnityAdapter {
async extract(gamePath: string): Promise<StringEntry[]> {
// Unity-specific extraction logic
}
async inject(gamePath: string, translations: Map<string, string>): Promise<void> {
// Unity-specific injection logic
}
}
