Anti-Cheat Safety
Understanding anti-cheat systems and staying safe while modding games.
Mafkers is designed exclusively for single-player/offline games. This page explains why and how to stay safe.
Why Anti-Cheat Is Dangerous
Games with kernel-level anti-cheat (Vanguard, EasyAntiCheat, BattlEye, nProtect GameGuard) scan file integrity. Modifying ANY file - even just language files - can trigger:
- Permanent account ban
- Loss of game progress
- Loss of purchased content
Mafkers takes user safety seriously. We automatically block modding of games with known anti-cheat.
Safety First
Never mod games with anti-cheat if you value your account. The risk of permanent ban is real.
Anti-Cheat Blocklist
Mafkers maintains an internal blocklist of games with anti-cheat:
| Anti-Cheat | Games (examples) | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Riot Vanguard | Valorant, League of Legends | ❌ Blocked |
| EasyAntiCheat (EAC) | Apex Legends, Fortnite, Rust | ❌ Blocked |
| BattlEye | PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege, Arma | ❌ Blocked |
| nProtect GameGuard | Many Korean/Asian MMOs | ❌ Blocked |
| XignCode3 | Various Asian MMOs | ❌ Blocked |
| EQU8 | Some indie competitive games | ❌ Blocked |
| Hawk | Various | ❌ Blocked |
| VAC (Valve) | CS2, TF2, Dota 2 | ⚠️ Warning only |
VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat): VAC only triggers for active cheating (memory injection, aimbots). Language file modification typically does NOT trigger VAC. However, Mafkers shows a warning for VAC-protected games as a precaution.
How Mafkers Detects Anti-Cheat
Mafkers scans the game folder for anti-cheat signatures:
- File signatures: Looks for
vgc.exe,EasyAntiCheat.exe,BEService.exe, etc. - Folder structure: Checks for
EasyAntiCheat/,BattlEye/,equ8/folders - Service detection: Checks Windows services for anti-cheat drivers
What To Do If You See A Warning
If Mafkers shows an anti-cheat warning:
- Stop - do not proceed with modding
- Verify - check if the game is truly single-player
- Research - search online for “[game name] modding ban”
- If safe - you can proceed at your own risk (checkbox required)
